ZAC BROWN RELEASES FIRST-EVER SOLO POP ALBUM THE CONTROVERSY

Zac Brown surprised us all with his debut solo album last week, making a creative outlet for new genres of music, mostly revolving around pop. “The Controversy,” independently released by No Reserve, LLC, part of Zac Brown Collective, is available everywhere you stream music. Along with brand new music, Zac is offering a handful of music plus merch bundle pre-orders that include either a digital download of the record or physical music (CD or Vinyl) inside a limited edition evidence bag, along with multiple apparel options.

Most of “The Controversy” was recorded at Zac Brown’s Southern Ground Nashville studio and includes collabs with a number of pop songwriters and music producers like Skrillex, Benny Blanco, Poo Bear plus more from the pop music world and other genres.

“I’ve always been influenced by all genres and never want to limit myself to a single type of music. I love my band and love creating music with them, but we all pursue our own thing in addition to what we put out together and support each other’s creative endeavors. You can actually hear the guys playing on parts of The Controversy,” said Zac Brown. “This album is an outlet for me to explore pop music, a broad category in its own right, without expectations. The Controversy is a reflection of the diversity of sounds that I love, and the culmination of my work with vastly talented new collaborators. I hope you have as much fun listening to it as I did creating it.”

“Spend It All On You” is a song in the spotlight and according to Zac, it pretty much says it all in the title: “I don't have much to give but I just want to spend it all ... on you.” Some of the guys in the band played on the songs which will be played at Zac Brown Band shows because like Zac said, he “loves country, but loves other things too.”

The new surprise debut solo album is an avenue for Zac to explore pop music without expectations, something broader than country music. In a recent video, Zac said his “goal as an artist is to be able to create the type of music you want to listen to.” and that he likes a lotta different things.

The band will continue to create music and tour together with long time fans and new fans alike being able to enjoy more new music without boundaries. Head to the store to pre-order your music plus merch bundles now.
